The International Food Tourism Organization
The World Food Tourism Association is the world leader in studding, teaching and developing the fastest growing niche of the travel industry - the culinary tourism. Established in 2002, and active with followers in 135 countries, the WFTA is the industry benchmark of this trend. Udi Goldschmidt, the assigned Ambassador to Israel of WFTA is coordinating the professional team behind this site and making it into a world platform for Foodies worldwide.
The World Food Tourism Association is the founder of the international conference about food tourism FoodWorx and the founder of the artisanal food trade platform SavorSearch. Those activities, as well as involvement with USAID and the UNWTO places the WFTA at the top of the trade.
The Israeli organization
Food-Tourism site is managed by a professional team that selects a limited number of services in every geographic zone, based on professional elements. For example, restaurants are evaluated based on authenticity, freshness of produce and lack of processed food, seasonal menu and wine pairing based on local wine availability. We are limiting ourselves to the top ten providers in each geographic region. For example, in the city of Jerusalem we feature only 10 street food vendors, selected from a list of few hundreds.
If you feel your business should have been included and is missing from our site, please send us a note, and we will bring it to the professional committee.
